Spring Retreat 2024
Duke Taekwondo spent the day at Falls Lake! We went on nature hikes, played volleyball, and ended the day with a talent show!
ASA Converge Demonstration 2024
In our demo performance, we combined both traditional taekwondo practice with dancing and fighting under ASA's theme of "Converge". We included poomsae, board breaking, a fight sequence, and a k-pop dance routine!
Princeton ECTC 2024

UNC ACATA 2023
Duke Taekwondo became the highest-ranked school in ACATA out of all the schools we competed against. We won 8 gold, 9 silver, and 10 bronze medals!

We had an incredible Fall Retreat in the wilderness, including activities like hiking, kayaking, and karaoke!

Costa Rica Dream Trip 2023
During Winter break, our club went all the way down to Costa Rica to train with the National Costa Rican Taekwondo INVU team! Between training we explored volcanoes, waterfalls, beaches, and hot springs, ziplined through canopies, and spotted animals such as sloths, crocodiles, and monkeys. Pura vida!
ASA Converge Demo Performance 2023
In the demo team performance, Duke Club Taekwondo paid homage to traditional taekwondo skills and traditions while demonstrating the evolution of taekwondo as a sport and its culture by interweaving modern and global techniques, in the theme of "Rememberance"

Brown ECTC 2022
With 18 members, our team made our annual trip up to Brown for our largest ECTC tournament yet with nearly 500 competitors. The hard work of all of our athletes was clear each time they stepped onto the mat. Special congratulations to Larry Zheng, Ethan Lee, and Harrison Huang for making men’s B team sparring quarterfinals and to Samy Boutouis and Emily Ford for making C team poomsae quarterfinals!
UNC Scrimmage 2022
Duke Taekwondo helped organize and compete in a practice scrimmage with UNC Taekwondo. At UNC, our members won 10 gold, 6 silver and 11 bronze medals. We are definitely looking to competing more next year!
Fall Retreat 2022
We had our most fun fall retreat yet, featuring scenic hikes, campfires, stargazing, and piñatas!
National Collegiate Taekwondo Association Nationals 2022
Our team earned our first NCTA division trophy ever in Duke Taekwondo history at Nationals, closing out with 12 medals (6 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze), and second place in the color belt division!

Duke TKD finished the season strong by winning 2nd Place Team in Division III at Princeton University's ECTC Tournament as the unforeseen last tournament of the school year.

Black Belt Test 2020

Brown University Tournament 2019

Princeton University Tournament 2019
Duke TKD continued its tournament season with its second and final ECTC tournament of the year in February at Princeton University. In a great start to the tournament, freshmen Daniel Ryan and Rayhan Jhanji took first and third place, respectively, in men's green belt poomsae, and Junior Teresa Mao made it to top 8 in women's black belt poomsae. In sparring, two of our teams made it to quarterfinals: Women's B team (Alice Chen, Caroline Wang, and Bohyun Yun) and Men's B team (Rayhan Jhanji and Daniel Ryan). It was also great to see TKD alum and Sidney Kimmel Medical College Student Eric Mastrolonardo, who hopped in to coach team captain Roy Auh in his exhibition match! Overall, a great weekend and another milestone for this year's team.
Brown University Tournament 2018
Duke TKD kicked off its 2018-2019 tournament season by traveling to Brown University for their annual tournament. In a great start to the season, freshman Rayhan Jhanji won men's green belt poomsae, while freshman Phuong Huynh took 5th in Women's White/Yellow belt poomsae and junior Teresa Mao got 8th in Women's black belt poomsae. NCTA Nationals 2017

Duke Taekwondo had a blast at 2017 Collegiate Nationals at the University of California, San Diego. Carol Xia and Joyce Zhou both placed second in their respective weight divisions in women’s yellow belt sparring, and Shayal Vashisth placed second in women’s blue belt forms. Alum Eric Mastrolonardo returned to win first in men’s black belt sparring, earning a place on the US Team for the Summer World University Games in Taipei, Taiwan. Great job to everyone, and special congratulations to everyone who’s competed this past year!

NCTA Nationals 2016

Duke Taekwondo had a wonderful time at 2016 Collegiate Nations this year at the University of Colorado, Boulder! Howard Huang placed third in men's white/yellow belt division sparring, Srinath Soundararajan placed third in men's green belt forms, and Emily Burge placed third in women’s green/blue belt sparring. Eric Mastrolonardo also returned with a silver in the black belt men’s sparring division. Special congratulations to everyone who competed this past year!
