Spring Banquet 2026
And to wrap up a spectacular year, we went to the Tobacco Road Sports Cafe for our annual Spring Banquet! Through lovely photoshoots, a nice dinner, honorary speeches, and the spoon assassins' final fight, TKD does it all with style and pizazz ✨🌸
Black Belt Test
And, saving the best for last, congrats to Sophia and Swarajh on earning their 1st degrees! After 4 years of blood, sweat, and tears, we are so proud of the work they put in for the coveted black belt. Thank you to Master Nick for hosting this test!
Belt Test #4
We are so proud of our 9 color belt testers, Sophie, Weiyee, Swarajh, Krystally, Kris, Jackson, Daniel, Anna, and Hannah!🥋 After watching them demonstrate curriculum, sparring, board breaks, and conditioning, I can confidently say that they are some of the most dojang-erous people I've seen 🙌
Spring Retreat 2026
Amidst our hardcore schoolwork, we had a great time retreat-ing from assignments at Falls Lake 😋🌿🌊 We enjoyed our time singing around the campfire, relaxation along the lake shore, and snapshots of our 'blossom' football skills 😎
Princeton Roadtrip
Despite the competition being canceled, Club TKD still had a blast in New Jersey! In our two-day road trip, we took a peaceful stroll throughout the city, munched on some warm ramen, and had a little sweet treat of ice cream!

After months of planning and practice, Club TKD did third 3rd performance at the annual Duke Asian Students' Association Showcase! 👊 Thank you so much to the hosts at ASA and all of our performers for doing an amazing job ❤️

Congratulations to Clara, Sabrina, Abby, Weiyee, Devonte, Jackson, Daniel, Abhay, Swarajh, Chelsea, and Kris for their belt promotions! Even with unsuspecting challenges (like Wilson gym being closed), our members continued to show just how awesome they are 👊 Sooo thankful to all who tested!! you guys are the (tur)key to making our club amazing ❤️❤️

The first belt test of the year was filled with adrenaline, as we witnessed THIRTEEN of our members test for their nest color belts! We are so so proud of them for the commitment and work they have done ❤️

Summer Virtual Game Night
Even though summer might have separated us temporarily, it did not stop us from having a game night filled with laughs! We played Codenames and skribbl.io together, and we were overjoyed to catch up with some of our members and alumni!

As we wrapped up this semester, Club TKD got together to commemorate all the hard work our members have put in 👊 Thank you to everyone, including our graduating seniors, for making this year a great one! ❤️

And for our final athletic showcase of the year, Master Nick hosted our black belt test! Congrats to Maanav for earning his 1st degree, Soojin for earning her 3rd degree, and Patrick for earning his 3rd degree!

Our club had a SPLASH-tastic time at Falls Lake 🌊 From exploring the depths of the water, sunbathing, and eating s’mores to creating fun memories at our very own talent show, TKD’s bond really BLOOMED this spring season 🌸 🤩
Spring Picnic
To celebrate the blooming flowers and nature around us, our members had a "TKDicnic" with yummy snacks and fun vibes! We spent time in the sun and went turtle watching by the ponds 🐢

For our final event of 2024, we had a wonderful dinner at Tobacco Road Sports Cafe! We got to celebrate our wonderful newbies (with their paper plate superlatives) and the incredible fall semester we had.

Fall Retreat 2024
We had such a great time at our little cabin on the lake! We spent time hiking (all of 0.5 miles!), paddleboating, doing karaoke, making s'mores, and having a wonderful time with our friends :)
Noodle Night
We began the 2024-25 school year with a team dinner at Wheat! We had so much fun bonding with our team and eating yummy food!

Spring Banquet
We celebrated our year together and said goodbye to our graduating students at the Tobacco Road Sports Café.
Spring Retreat
Duke Taekwondo spent the day at Falls Lake! We went on nature hikes, played volleyball, and ended the day with a talent show!
ASA Converge Demonstration
In our demo performance, we combined both traditional taekwondo practice with dancing and fighting under ASA's theme of "Converge". We included poomsae, board breaking, a fight sequence, and a k-pop dance routine!
Winter Banquet
We celebrated our semester at Sake Bomb with some incredible sushi and Secret Santa gifts!
Fall Retreat
We had an incredible Fall Retreat in the wilderness, including activities like hiking, kayaking, and karaoke!
Spring Banquet
We celebrated our year together and said goodbye to our largest class of seniors at the Tobacco Road Sports Café.
Costa Rica Dream Trip 2023
During Winter break, our club went all the way down to Costa Rica to train with the National Costa Rican Taekwondo INVU team! Between training we explored volcanoes, waterfalls, beaches, and hot springs, ziplined through canopies, and spotted animals such as sloths, crocodiles, and monkeys. Pura vida!
ASA Converge Demo Performance 2023
In the demo team performance, Duke Club Taekwondo paid homage to traditional taekwondo skills and traditions while demonstrating the evolution of taekwondo as a sport and its culture by interweaving modern and global techniques, in the theme of "Rememberance"

Wrapping up our fall semester in fashion with a banquet at Sake Bomb and exchanging secret santa gifts!

We had our most fun fall retreat yet, featuring scenic hikes, campfires, stargazing, and piñatas!
Black Belt Test 2020
Congratulations to Heesu Park, Duc Tran, Caroline Wang, and Bohyun Yun on achieving their first degree black belts! Special congratulations to Teresa Mao for receiving her 4th degree black belt and being named an honorary master by Master Lee!
Winter Banquet 2019
Duke TKD traded out their doboks for suits, dresses, and heels for a fun night out, complete with boats full of sushi and endless Asian dishes!
